Beware!, 22 Apr 2008
These are Levy's major-label recordings, featuring inferior remakes of some of his best-known tunes. You'll need to look elsewhere for the originals.
WOW, 30 Nov 2006
This is one of my favourite Albums, I have grown up on good raggae tunes and this album is full of them, Vice versa love moves the soul, and To experienced is fantastic. Thanks Barrington.

featuring perfect production by scientist and absolutly stunning vocals by barrington levy this lp is an absloute must buy album. listen to the song 'if you give to me' the greatest love song never heard.... the lp is just a joy to behold.
Englishman - Barrington Levy, 29 Oct 2007
A long overdue reissue of Barrington Levy's classic `Englishman' set, originally released in 1979, regarded as one of the most important albums from that period that paved the way for what was to become known as dancehall.
As well as the original remastered 10 tracks, there are 4 additional deejay and dub versions which are now available on CD for the first time.
Includes the hits `Look Youthman', `Blackheart Man' and the original full length 12" versions with DJ versions by Scorcher and full length 12" mixes with dubs of `Englishman' and `Sister Carol'.
Recorded at Channel One & King Tubbys studios, produced by Henry `Junjo' Lawes and mixed by Scientist & King Jammy.
Barrington Levy was a massive reggae star of the early 80's and still records and tours to this day, particularly in the UK and US. He has a massive worldwide fan base helped by constantly touring and having some of his biggest hits - including `Here I Come' and `Under Mi Sensi' - sampled over the years by Hip Hop, Jungle and Dance artists, earning him a new generation of fans.

don't be tempted by the three killer tunes., 11 Feb 2008
whilst containing two of barrington levy's best known tracks ('under mi sensi' and 'here i come') and having a brilliant update of an old classic ('a yah we deh') this album is an extremely poor effort. bogged down by grating eighties production that usually sounds good on a dancehall track and album tracks that just don't live up to the three killer tunes. don't waste your money on this and buy a best of complilation if you want 'under mi sensi' and 'here i come'.
Superb single from Talisman P, 02 Oct 2001
Believe me when I say Talisman P will be the next big Dance music producer. "Here I come Sing DJ" is a fabulously well produced track, the vocals on the track are mostly looped hook's that are sung by Barrington Levy, and while he sings away the track thumps along with some very cleverly catchy and well put together melodic hooks. The CD Single consits of three tracks, a radio edit an 8 minute Club mix and a mix produced by DJ Iron. I've heard other tracks produced by Talisman P which are all consistently superb, he's a producer I've followed ever since I heard his first tracks. Talisman P has a knack for creating great hooks and catchy tunes. He's someone very well worth looking out for in the future because I believe he will be massive. "Here I come Sing DJ" would be a wise purchase.

so-so album, 13 Jul 2002
Barrington Levy broke though in the mid 80s and had a hit in the uk charts with Here I Come. This 1992 album co-produced by Paul Love was a decent effort but not fantastic. Some songs were classic Levy like Mandela Free and Left With A Broken Heat but songs like Lipstick let the album down. The last song on the album I Want You sounds like a Eddy Grant song which is not a good thing.Another good song is the Beres Hammond penned song Hey Girl.
