One of the greatest reggae albums of all time, 30 Jun 2008
Israel Vibration are three crippled lads (victims as babies of the late-50s polio epidemic in Jamaica) who grew up together in a Kingston residential rehabilitation centre. Kicked out into the streets of Kingston for being Rastafarians, they spent five years singing for food on the streets.
From being destitute on the streets of Kingston then, to the ecstatic energy of "Walk The Streets Of Glory" - "We gonna walk the streets of glory", they sing, exploiting the potential of roots harmonising to the full. The album is worth buying for this song alone, but there is lots more. The beautifully melodic "Why Worry", for example, the groups debut single, offers an alternative to the health-destroying materialism of our age: "I scratch my nuts and then I say: why worry? why worry, when you can pray?" The uplifting quality of the group's music is also strongly present in the beautiful "Lift Up Your Conscience" and the harmonies again are stunning.
"The Same Song" is a unique album, with three very distinctive voices combining beautifully to create a very special sound.
Great harmonies from a great rock steady, reggae group, 17 Nov 2001
Israel Vibration are a three piece band that met after being struck down by the polio epidemic that hit Jamaica at the end of the 1950's. Overcoming their afflictions, Lascelles "Wiss" Bulgin, Albert "Apple" Craig and Cecil "Skelly" Spencer came together to create a masterpiece of rock steady reggae. Look out for the last track - a dub mix of "Crisis"...brilliant! Pump it up and chill out!

Classic Reggae, 07 Oct 2003
Was surprised to see this advertised,as haven't seen it since i bought it on vinyl years ago back in the nineties. Israel Vibration are a tight knit classic reggae band, comprising great lead vocals, and the customary funky skank of the bass and rhythm guitars. The songs all sound like they've been around forever, whereas they are strikingly contemporary. If you do or even if you don't like reggae you will like this band and especially this album, they are gifted musicians as well as songwriters, and there's lots of humour in here as well,to see what i mean just listen to "Red eyes". check it rude boys!
