Not very impressed, 07 Jan 2008
Having just bought a karaoke machine I wanted some discs to go in it. I bought this one and although the music is good there are no words on the screen they are in the book inside the cd case. A bit pointless for karaoke, especially when you have had a few drinks as you can't see the words as they are so little. I didn't realise I had to buy CDG cds.
Why buy 'Pop Divas'?, 24 Feb 2004
I purchased this CD to use for singing practice, as this is my hobby. I thought, even if the backing tracks don't sound very 'authentic', I wouldn't have lost much cash & could still use it for a giggle on a 'girls night in' with a bottle of wine & a few friends! However, I was very pleasantly surprised! All the backing tracks are of a good quality & they are all very similar to the style of the artist which they claim to be. I was also pleased that the CD insert not only contained all the lyrics to the songs as promised, but they were all accurate! (Hallelujah!) This CD not only boasts a decent selection of songs (of which there are twice as many as on most karaoke CD's), but it is value for money & does exactly what is says on the 'tin'!

I agree, being Welsh it just isn't right, 27 Nov 2005
I don't like the idea that the hair doesn't stand up on the back of my neck and arms from the shear glory of the sound of the Welsh here. I would much prefer (as I am sure anyone wanting to hear the famous voice of the Welsh in song)the true way the songs were meant to be. This doesn't even represent the voices I heard on the way to the mines of the miners themselves, now that was a wonderful thing to hear and to witness in the morn. The heart and love of home is whats missing. There are much better to chose from.
Anglicized Welshmen, 20 Jun 2005
I am not the best person to review this CD as I am Welsh, and I am sorry to say that commercial practices have caused the choir to sing with a universal sound which is simply not as effective as their music for home consumption. I have heard the Brecon Male Voice Choir, by no means as famous, sing and felt the hairs rise on the back of my neck: this does not happen here.
