This product description is wrong. The track 19 "Still Here" that is listed in the product description does not exist. There are only 18 tracks on this CD. This is identical to the US soundtrack, thus rumors of the two versions being different are false.
This is a typical Rocky soundtrack, with every single track on the entire CD being a butchered remix that sounds nothing like the one that appeared in the movie. Every Rocky soundtrack to date has been like this. The Rocky 4 songs sound terrible as usual. You have dialog mixed into the audio tracks, so you get to listen to Rocky's voice every single time. Cringe-worthy.
When are they going to come out with a Rocky soundtrack that is NOT a "remixed" or "arranged" version?
i have never................., 03 Jul 2007

The best rocky compilation around..., 02 Jun 2007
If you've ever seen the rocky films you will know that,
they contain a number of things that make them great,
the cinematography, the acting and the music.
Rocky would not be anywhere near as aweinspiring or heart warming,
without its amazingly good scores.
This has got to be the best compilation ever, contaning all of the
signiature songs from every one of the movies,
from the most well known songs like "gonna fly now" to lesser known
gems like "hearts of fire", each song has alot of emotion and
power behind it and can be enjoyed by fans or newcomers alike.
Like what another reviewer said this music is great and uplifting,
even if you havent seen the films.
the theme songs are what made the films great and if you love rocky then
this set should already be on your shelf at home.
Almost Perfect!, 07 Mar 2007
I'm going to make my review short and simple, the songs are brilliant, and they are all in brilliant remastered sound quality.
However the reason i did not give this 5 stars is because they left off a couple of the best Rocky soundtrack songs:
Training Montage (Rocky IV)
The Measure Of A Man (Rocky V)
Hearts On Fire (Rocky IV) [Extended Version]
Its a shame really, because it would have been the most perfect soundtrack album of all time, but hey its still great, you just have to buy another 2 Rocky soundtracks with it if you want the complete 'best of' :-)
The best soundtrack album ever!!!, 13 Feb 2007
Having been involved in a lot Rocky chat in the office for the last 2-3 months I decided to buy this album...I had high hopes and I was not disappointed. I got it before a very long journey so listened to it fully 3 times and can conclude that this CD is the ultimate in motivational music. For example I had an argument with the other half last night, I went for a drive but it didn't let off any steam so I come home and put on Hearts on Fire - instantly I could take on the world and I've had a smile on my face every since!!!
If you're a fan of the Rocky films or just need perking up GET THIS CD,[...]
Good value for money here for Bond fans , 05 Aug 2008
This album is a 'Deluxe' edition and contains 19 tracks - so is a very good broad sweep of the music used throughout the film.
Highlights include the title track and 'Submarine'. Some of the stuff sounds rather dated (e.g. there are lots of disco guitars and synth bass in places), but this is 1981. Much of this stuff doesn't particularly have much impact on its own, but it's film music, and so serves its purpose in this respect.
I wouldn't say this was up there with the best of the Bond soundtracks (such as "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" or "The Living Daylights"), but if you're a fan then you do need this in your collection.
It's listenable and mildly amusing in places.
Hugely underrated, 12 Feb 2005
This is a hugely underrated score by Bill Conti, while I know taht it's not John Barry (or David Arnold for younger fans) he does a VERY good job of composing appropriate music for the scenes. I would only have one complaint - that is that the music added on for the expanded release isn't anywhere near as good as the original cues - but they do sound good played in the right order. Here is how to do this:
1. Gunbarrel / Flowers for Teresa / Helicopter Ride 3:23
"Gunbarrel" and "Flowers for Teresa" are the first 1:45 of track 13 on the expanded album. "Helicopter Ride" is the last 1:43 of track 3, "Melina's Revenge".
2. For Your Eyes Only - Title Song 3:06
I mixed the very end of track one into the start of this one. It works pretty well.
3. Sinking the St. Georges 1:09
This is the last 1:09 of track 13.
4. The Havelock's :34
This is the first 34 seconds of "Melina's Revenge" (track 4).
5. San Martin 1:01
This is the first 1:01 of track 5, "Gonzalez Takes a Dive".
6. Make it Last All Night 3:31
7. Gonzalez Takes a Dive 2:14
This is the last 2:14 of track 5, "Gonzalez Takes a Dive"
8. A Drive in the Country 2:25
9. Unfinished Business :50
This is the first 50 seconds of track 14.
10. Cortina 1:45
11. Bond Meets Kristatos 1:05
This is the last 1:05 of track 14.
12. Ski...Shoot....Jump.... 5:16
13. Runaway 3:54
14. Take Me Home 2:32
15. Good-bye Countess / No Head For Heights 1:24
This is the first 1:24 of track 16. This track will need to be faded out.
16. For Your Eyes Only 1:35
Flugelhorn Solo by Derek Watkins
17. Submarine 2:39
18. Dining Alone 1:57
This is the last 1:57 of track 16.
19. Recovering the ATAC 2:28
20. Sub Vs. Sub 3:16
21. Run Them Down 1:49
This is the first 1:48 of track 19. It needs to be faded out.
22. St. Cyril's Monastery 2:00
This is the first 1:58 of track 6.
23. The Climb 1:09
This is the last 1:09 of track 19. Sadly the cue "Run Them Down" was cross-faded into the dramatic start of this cue, so it's not possible to get a really clean opening on this track.
24. In the Basket 2:38
This is the final 2:38 of track 6.
25. The P.M. Gets the Bird / For Your Eyes Only - Reprise
At the end of my CD I included the three original album cues that I cut up for this chronological assembly. They are "Melina's Revenge", "Gonzalez Takes a Dive" and "St. Cyril's Monastery".
If you do not have the time or capability of editing this soundtrack into chronological sequence, the original Ryko album printed this cue order for programming the disc: 13, 1, 4, 7, 5, 2, 14, 11, 15, 8, 3, 16, 10, 9, 17, 18, 19, 6, 12.

1981 what a great year!!, 13 Oct 2004
For your eyes only brings back fond memory's for me,as i can alway's remember seeing it at the cinema.
This soundtrack brings those memory's back in everyway, capturing every aspect of the film,Bill Conti known to many for his famous tv themes, dallas etc does this soundtrack justice.
He updated the main title theme using a slightly upbeat tempo using the electric guitar which i found to be very original for it's time.
Bond fan or non bond fans you wont be dissapointed with this album and now having been remastered sounds even better.
For Your Ears Only, 09 Jan 2004
This offical remastered For Your Eyes Only soundtrack CD has to be one the best 007 scores made! Every part of it closely resembals the films classic mouments and ranks near some of the best soundtrack scores ever like O.H.M.S.S and The Living Daylights. The CD is mainly highlighted with the pieces from the thrilling action sequences, my favorites being "A Drive in the Country", "Melina's Revenge" and "Runaway". Every track is very inspiring from the way how it sums up the scene that was seen in the film at that point. Dispite not having every bit of music from the film it is well worth getting for any Bond fan who thoroughly enjoyed the film, and is very close off a well earnt five stars!
great bond CD!!, 02 May 2003
I heard about this cd from a friend, he told me it was good so i bought it. when i listened to it i found out it was not only good it was the best cd in the world!!!
Familiar sounding, but brilliant nonetheless!, 03 Jul 2006
Bill Conti's score for this film is marvellous; as good as any science-fiction score out there today. Perhaps it outshines the low-budget, corny (but brilliant) film to which it is attached.
The soundtrack was released originally in 1987, but was missing a great deal of music. It was then re-released in 1992, featuring almost the entire score -- it is this second version that I own. Unfortunately there are still some cues and small bits missing, but the important pieces are there. It begins of course with the magnificent He-Man theme, going straight into Skeletor's menacing entrance. This score was criticised for borrowing from too many other films and famous pieces of music. Though I can understand this point of view, I think it escapes through the use of unique, recognisable themes and certain arrangements within the orchestra which help to distinguish this score from others in the fantasy genre.
The piece I was after for years was the final battle between our hero and the evil Skeletor. Unfortunately although it is all here, it is spread out in bits over two or three different tracks. The soundtrack does not follow the timeline of the film consistently (though overall the soundtrack is fairly well structured). Still, this doesn't matter -- the brilliant action pieces and the more subtle, dark-fairytale type music featured is enough to keep any film-score fan satisfied!
