Product Description
Strangely for a greatest hits compilation, Green Day's International Superhits opens with two new songs recorded in 2001. "Maria" is Green Day playing to their strengths, a burst of rattling skinny tie new wave that has you itching to join the nearest mosh pit, and the cool acoustic pop of "Poprocks and Coke" is worthy of the trio's Nimrod. The implication is clear: the unfortunate diversion undertaken by 2000's Warning (where the band horrifically mutated into The Levellers) is over and now it's business as usual. Thank God for that. Although a host of skate chancers have tried to rewrite the likes of "Basket Case" and "Brain Stew", no one does punk pop better than Billie Joe and the boys. No one does it quite as intelligently either. "Longview" almost sneers at the slacker ennui it seems to embody, "Welcome to Paradise" sneaks in a cheeky steal from Dead Kennedys, and "Redundant" runs on a sublime psyche melody worth of Elliott Smith. All of which proves you don't need a potty mouth and a dull 'tude to be a real rebel--and dreadlocks and dogs on strings are a definite no no. --Ian Watson

International superhits, 15 Jun 2008
'International superhits', (like most bands best of's), is probably the best place to start with Green Day if you're new to their music and want to hear more. You get a pretty good selection of their hits, as well as some more obscure stuff. At 21 tracks, this album has plenty to offer and I defy anyone to put on 'Basket Case' or 'When I Come Around' and not crack into a big grin. This album showcases what a good rock band should be, simple, loud and fun. You can't ask for much more than that. Well worth a try. Punk Power!, 16 Jun 2007
I already had American Idiot and after going the the concert at the Bowl in 2005 i wanted to see wat the rest of their songs were like, i saw the album going cheap and decided to grab it, it didnt dissapoint. The songs are all individual and exciting to listen to, Basket case and Longview are huge amounts of fun and have catchy sounding rifts.
Green Day made their name with these songs and it isnt hard to see why. one listen and your hooked.
This a truly great collection of songs from a truly legendary band if you are into fun lively music, buy this album and laugh. "Wonderful!", 02 Sep 2005
A very enjoyable party cd; bung it in the player and it does the headbanging job. What can I say? It's a Greatest Hits, so chances are, if you're considering buying it, it's because you already like Green Day. As a belated introduction to the band, it's invaluable. Some weaker tracks have been included, and neither of the two new tracks (the openers) make much of an impact. But the likes of Longview, Basket Case, Brain Stew, Hitchin' a Ride and Good Riddance make up for it. Definately one for the collection, and perhaps an essential purchase for those who've only just started listening to Billie Joe, Mike and Tre after the success of American Idiot. One thing though... why did one reviewer rate this album if he hates the band so much??? Warning, seriously good!, 19 Aug 2005
Now that everyones got over how brilliant American Idiot was, people are going back and listening to some of the classics that this band recorded. This is the greatest collection of all their greatest songs, and includes mint tracks such as WARNING, MINORITY and BASKET CASE. Well, what can I say?, 30 Jul 2005
Well, as it is the greatest hits of Green Day - best band in the world, it's bound to be quite good isn't it?! Maria: Catchy, one of their earlier numbers 3/5 Poprocks & Coke: Yet another catchy song, but not as good as some of the others 4/5 Longview: The bassline will stick in your head FOREVER. Great drumming at the beginning!! 4.5/5 Welcome to Paradise: This is one of their first songs, but already you can recognise Billie Joe's remarkable song writing talents. 4/5 Basket Case: Undoubtebly one of the greastest punk songs of all time! You'll never get fed up with it!! 6/5! When I come around: Great riff all the way through! Once again, you'll never get bored of it. 5/5 She: Everything about this song is amazing. Even the one note bassline at the beginning is amazing! This is one of my fav songs. 5/5 You get the idea now, right!? :P

Product Description
On their 1997 release, Dude Ranch, juvenile hardcore-pop band Blink 182 tickled the funny bone with an assortment of dumb sex jokes, off-colour artwork and between-song skits, including one of a dog drinking from a freshly peed in toilet. So, two years down the road, have the band matured at all? One look at the cover of Enema Of The State, which features cover art of a tarted-up blonde nurse donning a rubber glove, provides the easy answer. Fortunately, Enema supports the humour with strong musicianship. The songs are more dynamic than those on Dude Ranch, sounding like a cross between the Descendents and Fountains of Wayne. And unlike the glut of alt-rock releases that offer one or two memorable songs, Enema is flush with instantly memorable melodies and ear-pleasing harmonies. Good, dirty fun--no more, no less. --Jon Wiederhorn

Amazing album!!, 01 May 2006
Fantastic album by a fantastic band. I saw someone give Enema Of The State a shocking review so im writing this to show not all the world listens to awful music.
Track 1. "Dumpweed" is an amazing start to the album with its cool riffs and catchy lyrics. 10/10
Track 2. "Don't Leave Me" is probably the weakest song on the album but still a top quality track. Personally, i prefer the live version. 8/10
Track 3. "Aliens Exist"is the type of song that sticks in your head and you walk about singing it all day. Catchy and punky. 9/10
Track 4. "Going Away To College" is up there with the top tracks on the album. Great lyrics. Just amazing! 10/10

Track 6. "Dysentery Gary" is one of my favourite tracks on the album. very catchy and great lyrics. 10/10
Track 7. "Adam's Song" was another single but for some reason the video is NEVER shown on TV, which is a crime. Slower song on the album and with its modulations in mood, Adam's song is a must for fans of the punk rock genre. 10/10
Track 8. "All The Small Things" is blink-182s most famous song and i do not know anyone who doesnt like it. Very, very catchy and a hilarious video. Brilliant song! 10/10
Track 9. "The Party Song" is about a high school/college party and is faster paced than the rest of the album but slower in the chorus. Extremely catchy. 10/10

Anyone who doesn't have this album should go out and buy it now.
Their best, 20 Apr 2006
I think their best albumn and a very good one by any standards.
It just seems more put together than their rest. Produced much better and more professionally. Not quite 70's punk!
This is a fantastic album!, 05 Apr 2006
This is a fantastic album. Songs like Adam's Song is poetic and shows how much talent these guys actually have. They've never said that they are punk like the sex pistols, they play music that they like and they play it very well. The idea of the pornstar on the front with a rubber glove is a joke, not to seek attention. Preparation H anyone? Please buy this album, you won't regret it?

Product Description
Punk had flirted with mainstream attention before--the Clash and Sex Pistols had hits--but didn't fully advance from the underground until this pure-punk 1994 album. In singing catchy, tight rock & roll tunes--including "Longview", "Welcome to Paradise" and "When I Come Around"--Green Day sneered its way into the hearts of millions. The Berkeley, California, trio also ignited a debate: Is it selling out for punks to sign with a major record label and become multi-platinum stars? Fortunately, this band didn't seem to care as much as Kurt Cobain did. --Steve Knopper

Dookie: it's good., 22 Oct 2008
It's the first time I've revisited this album for a while. I don't really think of myself as a Green Day fan anymore, but this was the first record of theirs that I heard. I then bought them all up to, and including Warning (which I thought was terrible). I won't be buying American Idiot.
So I just thought I'd peruse the reviews while listening to it; there's a lot of talk of punk, but I don't see anyone mentioning The Clash anywhere... or any of Green Day's predecessors. That really shows the generation that Green Day appealed to. I'm pretty sure I was 16 or 17 when this came out, and it became standard listening for myself and all my friends. I started my first band, and we would cover Basket Case and Welcome to Paradise. So it was pretty important.
Listening to Dookie now is a fairly refreshing experience. It brings those 6th form days right back to me, but it doesn't leave me feeling like I can't enjoy it anymore. It's still a breathless, relentless and pulsating album. I don't think there's a real weak track on it. Sure, it's pretty much the same idea from start to finish, but that's what punk is like, by and large. And this album has lots of endearing subtle moments. Billie Joe makes tunes by slightly slurring his words so that you often don't know what he's singing, but do know that you like the sound of it. Mike's bass jumps and bounces all over the place, giving your brain a little bit of variation to focus on, and Tre's drumming is insistent and inventive. Then you've got some well considered backing vocals at critical times - see "She" for the best example - and some amusing stories.
Essentially you've got all the elements that make up a Green Day album, but here they are more honed than on earlier records, and less tainted by commerciality than later ones.
So where does it fit? For me, the best Green Day album is Nimrod. That one has more variety, and some awesome tunes. Dookie is probably second best, Insomniac third (that one is pretty much identical to Dookie, but without the hits), after that I can't really choose between the 1039 and Kerplunk... I just know that Warning is the worst.
So, Dookie: it's good.
fantastic, 02 Aug 2008
this is got to be the best green day album ever and im an avid fan its got the raw sound of 1039 but bettr produced (sorry lookout) its a must its up there with Paranoid by the mighty sabbath buy this album sold more than that dire american idiot s**t sorry its my personal opinion they say gd sold out after the release of this album but no! american idiot shnard
The best Green Day album to date, 31 Oct 2007
This is my favourite Green Day album to date, it is very closely followed by their most recent one, American Idiot. This album is filled with extremely catchy songs and once you hear them a few times, you will feel the urge to sing along as loudly as you can.
There are so many great songs and I don't actually have a favourite, and they are all great. If you want to buy a Green Day album, this is the album to buy, I highly recommend it.
A great album, 21 Oct 2007
This album is amazing, but not as good as Green Days latest album 'American idiot'. However, this CD still has some classic songs on it which really do have some of Green Days best. The album starts with 'Burnout'. This is a fun song with some intersting guitar work at the end. The next song 'Having a blast' is quite fast paced, and yet manages to apply the brakes for the amazing chorus.
The album has all of the singles as well, such as: 'longview', 'Basket Case' and 'When I Come Around'. They are all very catchy and among Green Days best. Longview is a very memorable song. The song 'she' starts slowly but then explodes along at a break-neck pace which makes for a good song. This album has 7 excellent tacks, and for about £6- its well wort the buy.
Oh, and by the way- buy their album 'American Idiot' because it has a more mature, darker sound to it........
Great first album, 25 Jul 2007
This is Green Days first album and it is probably their best one. Basketcase is probably my favourite song on it but there are so many good songs its hard to choose. This and American Idiot are, in my opinion, Green Days best albums. The lyrics and tunes to all the songs are great and I genuinely don't think I have any complaints. I strongly reccomend this cd to any rock\punk music fan.

Product Description
Punk rock is meant to be played loud and snotty. Blink-182 are a San Diego area punk rock trio whose interest in arrested development has led them to a sparkling array of sex jokes that cover everything from anal sex to masturbation to... well, you get the idea--and that's just the between-song banter. This limited edition live collection--a holding pattern until the band's fifth studio release due sometime in 2001--features a slam-dunk collection of the band's hits, fan favourites from their various studio albums and new tunes ("Blew Job" among the enlightened tracks). One additional studio track "Man Overboard" packs a harder punch than most thanks to the studio finesse. But mostly these are revved up versions of songs to break a skateboard by. With the added appeal of a colour booklet and about seven minutes-worth of "stage banter" tacked on at the end, it's guaranteed to either leave you in stitches or have you grounded for a month. --Rob O'Connor

cracking pop punk that still sounds vital , 31 May 2006
i got this when i was at university and for that i will always hold a special place in my heart for it,its blink 182 at their most anthemic, most vital and most fun,its an album that is packed with classic after classic, its impossible not to love songs like dumpweed, dont leave me,aliens exist, the aptly titled going away to college,as i was in another country for university, whats my age again and adams song, the remaining songs are all good as well, there isnt really a bad song on here,it isnt life changing music by any means, and of course all the songs tread the formula that nofx helped create but its all good honest fun,who can complain about that?
Track 5. "What's My Age Again?" was the first single off the album and with its amusing video and lyrics, it is a punk rock classic. 10/10
Track 10. "Mutt" featured in american pie and is my favourite blink-182 song of all time. I love the lyrics and the bassline. Amazing Song! 10/10
Track 11. "Wendy Clear" is a punk rock masterpiece. Fast and punky, it makes you want to jump about lke an idiot and ill never get bored of it. 10/10
Track 12. "Anthem" is great way to end the album. Love the bass solo.

Awesome, 19 Mar 2006
This CD catches all the energy of Blink 182 live, the songs are performed well, with funny immature twists in lyrics. Mark and Tom's ramblings about sex, their fathers and dogs nearly made me cry. This is a rare CD and could cost you a bit, but it is a collectable for all blink fans. I went estatic when I found it on here and haven't looked back since. If you can buy it, then buy it, otherwise it's your loss
Safe purchase!, 29 Jul 2005
Love the CD, live version played with a lot more energy and is a lot more fun to jump around your bedroom to. Thankfully they placed all the tracks of them talking after all the music so it is uninterrupted in regards to the short tracks which can be deleted if you don't want them clogging up your iPod! Definitely worth getting if you are a Blink fan, as it contains all the greatist hits, from bhudda up to enema of the state.

Product Description
If you've heard Blink 182, the Offspring, or Green Day, you've heard Sum 41, with or without All Killer No Filler. The Canadian quartet's California punk formula is a well-worn one that seems to be working: set poppy, three-chord rock to hyperactive speeds, write songs about why you don't care and play up your juvenile-delinquent side for all it's worth (check out the "Going, Going, Gonorrhea" video with the band "doing all the dangerous and immature stuff you shouldn't try from the safety of your own home"). Of course, this has all been done before and will continue to be rehashed again as long as a silly, snotty attitude brings in the record company gold. While these punks a re hardly walking down the block less travelled, they still packed All Killer full of hooks that should snag radio listeners. Peppy sing-along choruses, rolling drum solos and guitar-driven anthems uncork the energy and brightly colour this fast-moving album. --Jennifer Maerz

Verygood album by Sum 41 not their best though., 14 Jul 2008
I am a fan of sum 41 and this isnt really Sum 41. They started of as a Punk band(Half Hour Of power), and then started of doing Pop -Punk. I still think this a great album all the songs are great well written and some very good guitar solos, but they sound very similar to Blink 182. The reviewer below me saying it's a boy band with guitar i wouldnt blame him from just hearing this album i recommend everyone just getting into Sum 41 buy their debut Half Hour Of Power, Does This Look Infected & Chuck those albums are what sum 41 are all about good old rock. This is great but other stuff by sum 41 is better.
Good for what it is, 15 Dec 2007
All the folk who are discounting this album for boring pop-punk.... that is what it is! The band aren't trying to pretend its not! For me this album reminds me of good times with my mates years ago, when I was about 14 this was the kinda stuff I was into and it was a great album for what it is. 'Easy listenening' punk... Definitely a good purchase.

This is an excellent album to lsiten to by Sum 41! The songs are awesome to listen to. There are some fast paced rock songs and some good rhyming (rapping) songs too! Overall this album is just the album you need to listen to to get in the mood for a long day!!
All Killer No Filler, 20 Jul 2005
This album is the best album from Sum 41, but this album still isn't the type of punk rock that i feel Sum 41 are trying to create. Still this album is a must have for any music fan.

Product Description
Maybe hanging out with Jello Biafra put the fun-loving spring in Offspring's step. Or perhaps it was just the royalty checks, hot babes, and fast cars. Whatever the case, the band's fourth record, Americana, is its most lively offering to date, replacing angst and rage with energy and sarcasm. The novelty single "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" matches infectious riffing and shout-along vocals with fly-girl chants of "Give it to me, baby" and lyrics about wannabe scenesters; and a storming punk-rock version of Morris Albert's "Feelings" sees the band hitting a new level of, er, (in)sensitivity. Elsewhere, the humour is slightly more subtle; "She's Got Issues" cops a new-wave guitar line from the Cars songbook, "The Kids Aren't Alright" opens like an Iron Maiden anthem, and "Why Don't You Get a Job?" is a blatant reggae-style spoof of the Beatles' "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da". Musically, Americana offers no real revelations, but the songs are a bit craftier and more diverse than the rest of the Offspring oeuvre, veering haphazardly between anthemic punk metal, blistering hardcore, and near-psychedelic experimentation. --Jon Wiederhorn

cracking pop punk that still sounds vital , 31 May 2006
i got this when i was at university and for that i will always hold a special place in my heart for it,its blink 182 at their most anthemic, most vital and most fun,its an album that is packed with classic after classic, its impossible not to love songs like dumpweed, dont leave me,aliens exist, the aptly titled going away to college,as i was in another country for university, whats my age again and adams song, the remaining songs are all good as well, there isnt really a bad song on here,it isnt life changing music by any means, and of course all the songs tread the formula that nofx helped create but its all good honest fun,who can complain about that?
Track 5. "What's My Age Again?" was the first single off the album and with its amusing video and lyrics, it is a punk rock classic. 10/10
I Love it!, 04 Apr 2006
I love this album, i really do.
Dumpweed- Love the chorus great song, catchy 10/10
Don't Leave Me- I agree with the guy earlier this is the weakest song on the album but I still like it. It is alright just not the best. 7/10
Aliens Exist- My favourite song, one of the best blink-182 songs, well in my opinion, catchy, and just has a great fell to it love it greatly. 10/10
Going Away To College- Very good, one of my favourites on the album feels great, fits in nicely with Aliens Exist. 10/10
What's My Age Again?- Well obviously one of the best, catchy, a very happy song that gets you in a happy mood. Amazing riff! 10/10
Dysentery Gary- good song catchy and has some funny lyrics, not the best on album but like all blink songs, great. 9/10
Adam's Song- My favourite blink song, i love it,great. Different but better than the others. It doesn't fell depressing even though that is it's subject. Wow! 10/10
All The Small Things- it's the most famous, but not the best but still a great song, again it is amazing 10/10
The Party Song- is a good song with a great chorus fast and slow really like the na na stuff 10/10
Mutt-really like this, sounds really good, Tom's voice sounds different but amazing. 10/10
Wendy Clear-This sounds different aswell but still provides a grwat outcome, enjoyable to listen to. 9/10
Anthem- Great song not as good as part 2 but still wonderful, really sounds bold. 10/10
Overall a wonderful album, you must buy it!!!
I strongly reccomend this cd to any rock\punk music fan.
buy this for any true punk fan now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 07 Jun 2006
but why buy this you may ask? well because it is about the best and rarest blink 182 album you will get your hands on i got into blink by buying greatest hits because i love punk (sex pistols r cool) which i never regreted and then i saw this under new and used section and was blown away by the qaulity not one note is out of tune or pitch or anything like that but my favourite song is the studio recording of man overboard on the live album that song rocks i also like the loads of funny chatter from tom delogne and mark hoppus travis drumming as good as ever amust buy you won't regret it i know i havent
Definitely worth getting if you are a Blink fan, as it contains all the greatist hits, from bhudda up to enema of the state.
awesome, 19 Jun 2005
this album is the best i think i have ever listened to. It makes you feel like you know the band because of the immature jokes that mark and tom do after every song. SOme of the songs on this album are amazing like man overboard and whats my age again. This album is a must for any punk fan
truly awesome!!!!!, 01 May 2005
God this album rules!i think blinks music sounds a tad better live, so this album woz a great choice for me, i looked on play and amazon for it and wasnt there but i then noticed that it woz on amazon but in the used and new section, the album was frm this guy but he sent it to me within 2 school days and i checked the disc and case, it was in perfect condition so dont be scared to buy, its awesome any true blink fan will love it, it features tracks frm budda, chesire cat, dude ranch and enema of the state, it also features man overboard there single back in 2000, but however it is live but is not played where they played there other shows so u cant here every one screaming lol, altogether it has about 43 tracks but only 20 or on the case cos the rest are tom and mark talkin for ages its realy funny! the albim on hole must hav bought 100,000 swear words in lol, anyway hope u decide to buy this album its amazin.

All Killer No Filler, 20 Jul 2005
This album is the best album from Sum 41, but this album still isn't the type of punk rock that i feel Sum 41 are trying to create. Still this album is a must have for any music fan.
The Offspring - Americana, 20 Sep 2007
By far the most commercially viable of all The Offspring releases to date. Album 5 continues (where Ix Nay started) to soften the raw sound of Dexter Holland's voice and Kevin Wasserman's Guitars, and while Holland's voice is still slightly ear grating, and very prominent in the mix, Americana is a departure from their rough furious jagged punk days.
Americana is also the first Offspring record that is geared towards singles, featuring a slew of radio friendly hits of the likes of "Pretty fly (for a white guy)", "The kids aren't alright" and "Why don't you get a job?", that will take anyone like me (who got into music through the Green Day / Sun 41 punk rock revival in the late 90s and early 00s) right back to those days. These new songs are more accessible and upbeat than any previous work.
If any criticism could be made of Americana, it is that as an album, it doesn't sit together as smoothly as Smash or Ix Nay, and because it is so geared towards individual songs, it plays more like a limited greatest hits album. That should not deter potential listeners, as some of The Offspring's best work can be found here - "Staring at the Sun" is a particular highlight. Americana is not a particularly rewarding listen, but it is an easy listen, and a very enjoyable one. There is enough upbeat punk pop to draw in the mainstream, and enough classic Offspring edginess to satisfy the older fans. By no means their best work, but nevertheless, good party album, that should be appreciated a song at a time.
The offsprings best ever album, 30 Jul 2007
In my view this is the offspring's greatest ever album. It is a great record for those who like their hard rock and metal but don't like their music to be too serious. This is a fun album and contains many catchy pop-influenced songs especially "Pretty fly for a white guy" which had great chart success. There are also other standout songs such as "the kids aren't alright", "staring at the sun" and "Americana." These songs are all punk influenced nu metal songs that have an upbeat lively feel and there are no fillers on the album. The offspring like their music very fast and that is evident here with very fast vocals and guitars. This is a great party record and is easy to listen. It is a must have for any offspring fan and is the best place to start for any new fan interested in the band or for anyone who ever listened to pop-punk nu metal bands such as Sum 41 and Blink 182. Enjoy!
Welcome to Americana..., 07 Aug 2006
One of my very first albums ever and what a way to start off my collection. Every track, upbeat and pacy hitting you with heavy bass and pacy riffs, some hard to keep up with. 'Staring at the Sun' is one of the catchiest songs ever primarily down to its brilliant staggered guitar riff. Superb interlude half way through 'Have You Ever' showing that the electirc guitar isn't the only instrument that can deliver porwerful precision with a quality bass solo. 'The Kids Aren't Alright' is one of my favourite songs of all time and through out you are fixated with brilliance. I thought the old boys had gone AWOL with 'Pay the Man'. Didn't give it the chance at first......I soon shut up!
AMERICANA AMERICANA AMERICANAAMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 28 Oct 2004
This is the best punk rock album EVER!there is not one bad track on that album. I first bnought it in a second hand shop after hearing it at my freinds hous it totaly converted me to Rock. There isnt one song on the album wichi havent listend to atleats 20 times and its still my favourite album and if i were to make an Offspring greatist hits album i would have to include about every Track there. If you like this album as much as i do i advise you to also buy Ixnay on the Hombre, Splinter and Conspiresey of one
An album that will blow you away, 12 May 2004
I borrowed this album from a friend after hearing a couple of tracks, and i was so shocked at the high quality. I don't really like any more of The Offspring's music but seriously, everyone into good music should own this album, it will shock you. It's one of the top 20 albums is own.

Product Description
Save one salty reference to sporting an embarrassing "boner during PE", the eponymous Blink 182, the band's fifth studio album is mercifully bereft of the references to farts and turds that have littered the lyrics of preceding million-sellers such as Enema of the State. Both Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge have become proud dads and thus have familiarised themselves with the fragrant pleasures of the 3.30am soiled-nappy change. Suddenly, shit isn't funny anymore, which is probably just as well seeing as Blink 182's comedic turns make the average Carry On film look like something by Moliere. Otherwise it's pretty much business as usual. Guitar buzz, girl troubles and teenage hormone dilemmas, big chanting choruses come flying out like volleys of snot from a pit bull terrier's nose and the whole thing sounds like Bob Mould's Sugar fronted by the imaginary snivelling younger sibling of Dean Friedman. While "Easy Target" bucks the trend by indulging in snarling minor-chord meltdown and Robert Smith of the Cure is commendably mopey on "All of This", to call this loveably hummable buffed-up racket "punk" would be wholly disrespectful to the much cherished memory of Sham 69 or the Lurkers. The fans will love it, of course, but the uncommitted will find themselves somewhat boner-less, even during PE. --Kevin Maidment
