Product Description
Legacy is just about the right title for this album. Boyz II Men were the original, modern-day boy band who formed the mould for groups such as Take That and the Backstreet Boys to be cast from. Heavily influenced by Doo Wop groups such as the Platters and the Dells and developed by ex-New Edition and BellBivDevoe member Michael Bivins, Boyz II Men quickly rose to heavyweight status after the foursome's 1991 debut Cooleyhighharmony. Their success is based on romantic ballads and strong vocals, the type of which groups such as Another Level could only dream of. However they've lacked the charisma and looks to really impact upon the world, being perhaps the only group that could be described as "quietly" selling an incredible 35 million records. This collection of their best moments concentrates on their strengths as crooning Cupids, best exemplified by their massive hit and classic ballad "End of the Road" (taken from the Boomerang soundtrack). "Hey Lover" featuring LL Cool J is as energetic as the album gets and Legacy is unashamedly assembled for lovers of slow, romantic bedroom soul. But a lot of Boyz II Men's work hasn't aged too well. "I'll Make Love To You", a one time smash, sounds tinny and tacky and "On Bended Knee" is gut wrenchingly saccharine in a way today's R&B artists just wouldn't even try on. This Greatest Hits album effectively closes a chapter of Boyz II Men's history. Having just signed a new record deal with an album for release next year it will be interesting to see if the quartet move on or stick to their tried and trusted sugar-on-sugar methodology. --Jake Barnes

Boyz II Men: Legacy - The Greatest Hits Collection, 18 Jan 2008
You may have seen Boyz II Men in the spotlight recently, as they released their own cover versions of Motown classics, which is fantastic for any fan. The Legacy is all about Boyz II Men's journey from early hip hop, or contemporary soul to power ballads, and all are included on this wonderfull collection. All their well known hits are included, from their first to 'recent' ones, made when the album was first produced in the year 2000. An absolute masterpiece. Beautiful, 16 Jan 2008
I'm not an overly 'mushy' kind of girl but I have to say that this CD can only be described in one word...'Beautiful'. These are songs that will touch and move you in ways that most modern-day songs never do. They're songs that you can listen to over and over again without getting tired of hearing them. These men have amazingly beautiful voices. This collection is just...Beautiful. Great album by great artists, 18 Jan 2006
If you have never heard boys to men before you are in for a treat. They are, and have been for a long time, the greatest vocal band to come out of america. Many people have tried, and failed, to imitate thier unique singing style so i say to you that you need this album i promise you won't regret your purchase. Not even my style... but i like this alot., 05 Apr 2005
What I love about R'n'B is it can address feelings and emotions that other types of music find hard to grasp. B2M's Legacy is really a collection of songs that can help you express those feelings and is an ideal gift for a girl. After all, it is a female audience the lyrical content is aimed at, and a B2M song on the dancefloor is the very mark of the moment to go for a girl. While a male audience may not find it a neccessary CD for their collection, its always useful to keep this CD about, especially when you want to get a little... intimite. The rest is up to you what you do along to the music... this is good chillout material. Many of the songs are anthems to slow jammers worldwide, and immediate recognition from female ears guarantees you will have a good time with this CD. The songs are all good, their general structure being to sing the verses then the energetic choruses with a big buildup at the end. Aside from whereelse stated, they all conform to the same style of R'n'B. This is a cool greatest hits CD and the impression it leaves would influence me to peep out other B2M albums. A job well done. See the full review @ the site in my "where i'm from" heading

Product Description
Badu and her large turban appeared out of nowhere in early 1997, on a murmuring, romantic album that trod the median between old-school soul and contemporary electronic R&B. Badu's songs, especially the hit "On & On" and the catchy "Certainly", recall Sade in their polished, subtle sexiness. Badu almost never raises her voice--save the occasional "ooh-wee!" exultation--but she skilfully uses repetition and chanting to empower her words. Later portraying a beautiful swamp queen, she was one of the only good things about the movie Blues Brothers 2000. --Steve Knopper

immense for those chilled occasions, 26 Aug 2008
This album was one of my first tastes of a new genre of music.
I cant recommend this enough, very deep insightful. The tunes kinda flow togther and they are masterfully crafted.
I personaly love to stick this on late at night after a hards days work, get some candles on, turn off the lights and maybe a crafty smoke chill and chat to friends or that special person.
The more you listen the more it grows on you. Its uniqueness is part of its charm and i couldnt imagine anyone not rating this as immense.
Enjoy listneing if you purchase it.
Amazing from the old days!, 30 Jul 2008
I remember this album when I was very young in the 90s and I really, really loved this album although it was my dad's because he loves this album very much and I love those tune called..'Rimshot', 'On and On and 'Appletree'.
Now, this was a good album to listening to in summer time and for me to tidy up my place and relax.
A good beat and basslines. Erykah Badu is an amazing vocalist. I like her voice!
This is the best album that I have ever imagined.
Dull as ditchwater !!, 06 Jun 2008
This has got to be one of the worst, most boring, most manufactured albums Ive ever bought. The background music was cheap and synthetic, Badus voice rarely shows her full potential as a singer, which is huge, and not one song stands out. I bought the album on the strength of her performance featuring on other albums, such as The Roots fantastic "You Got Me", Busta Rhymes etc. Hugely dissapointing and a waste of money, Id recommend this mass market rubbish to no one.
Life-affirming soul classic, 29 Aug 2006
So much passes for soul music that isn't.
"Baduizm" slipped out onto the scene in 1997 as a debut that contained classy soul-jazz, perfectly delivered.
From the stunning single "on and on" to the ice-cold "certainly" to the charming "four leaf clover" this is a self-assured classic debut, comparable with soul standard classics.
Subtle yet compelling, this album has yet to be matched by any of her contemporaries and even by Ms. Badu herself.
An album that transcends time, 22 Jan 2005
The first time I experienced this album was at a barbeque some years back. The perfect setting for the hypnotic vibes to emanate. Worked on me anyway, as I bought the album not long after (album no. 2 of my collection at the time). That collection stands at nigh-on 400 right now, and Baduizm is still on rotation. Her voice is intoxicating, and the instrumentation attention-grabbing. This album is a neo-soul classic. Claims of Jill Scott being Ms Badu's successor are understandable, but not necessarily true. Scott brings an earthiness to the game, but lacks Badu's dulcet finesse. Favourites would have to be Appletree, Otherside, Drama, and of course, On & On. Buy the album, then buy Baduizm live to take your appreciation of this album to a whole other level.

Product Description
After the massive success of the Fugees' The Score, the popularity of any Refugee Camp solo project was guaranteed. No one, however, was prepared for the massive response to Lauryn Hill's debut album. Apart from the chart-topping singles "Doo Wop (That Thing)" and "Everything Is Everything", the album includes collaborations with D'Angelo, Carlos Santana and soul diva Mary J Blige. Her unique blend of Motown vocals and hip hop proved remarkably addictive, and the tracks are sweetly interspersed with classroom conversations on love. From the autobiographical and emotional lyrics of her own tracks to the stunning reinterpretations of "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" and "Tell Him I Love Him" (a secret bonus track), Lauryn points to a new melodic direction in hip hop. An album reminiscent of the classic soul records of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill deserved every one of its Grammies. --Ed Potton

I like many others recently dug this cd out of my collection. Most of you will think you are familiar with this work but let me assure you that you are not!!! The melodies and beats on this album are beyond ctiticism even for those of you that do not like hip-hop.A soulful set that will; in time, without question be regarded as a swansong to the twentieth century.Truly a classic which I think the fact no follow up album has been released testifies to the musical genious of Ms.Hill.How exactly do you follow up hip-hop/soul/r'n'b perfection? Lyrically and musically this album set a benchmark that has not really been matched within black music.
A true artist!, 24 Jun 2006
I listened to Miseducation again after years - I lost my original CD back in 1999 and hadn't replaced it till recently. I have been blown away again! Miss Hill has a talent that is rare. The blend of her voice, the music and the raw Hip Hop beat produced one of the best albums of all time in my books. Listening to this album again has made me realise what a lack of real talent there is today!
Soundtrack of my life, 09 Apr 2005
This is my favourite album ever. Lauryn is a lyrical genius. Every song is beautiful and the album flows excellently to give the story of a life in love, out again, then back in. It's hard to choose which songs are superior becaus they're all so good. No wonder it won 5 Grammys. The rapping, the reggae, the soul, the beats, the voice- perfection!
Classic, 09 Mar 2005
Quite simply one of the best albums of the 90s, probably one of the best albums ever. It is a little difficult to put your finger on why this album is so fantastic - is it Lauren Hill's wonderful voice? The way that the album seamlessly blends a variety of musical styles, including soul, reggae and hip-hop? The fantastic guests including Mary J. Blige and Carlos Santana? The excellent material (although the material is so uniformly excellent that the singles do not really stand out)? This album has stood the test of time and sounds as fresh today as it did when it was first released. It is an essential element in everyone's collection. If you do not already own it, find it and buy it.
Spectacular!, 09 Dec 2004
Amazing! This album is one of my favourites - a timeless classic. This album has reggae, hip hop & r'n'b influences throughout. Lauryn also collaborates with other stars such as D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige & Carlos Santana. Lauryn Hill is a truly gifted artist, with a beautiful voice, who wrote & produced every track on this album (which is rare today!) The lyrics are very deep & heartfelt. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who loves music & appreciates true talent.

Product Description
For an artist who only released four proper albums in a 15-year career, it's astounding to recall how many hits Whitney Houston was able to achieve. The two CDs on Greatest Hits track Houston's rise from mid-1980s hit machine balladeer to standard-setting diva. Disc 1, CoolDown, runs chronologically through Houston's down-tempo love songs, from "Saving All My Love For You" and "I Will Always Love You" to the cleverly conceived new duet with Deborah Cox, "Same Script, Different Cast". She's also showcased as the remixee of choice for DJs on the second disc, Throw Down, which serves as the antidote to the lovesick first disc. Calling in marquee mix masters, Houston's old-shoe tunes get a new millennium polish. "My Love Is Your Love", reinterpreted by Jonathan Peters, captures the versatility of Houston's songs by making the downbeats danceable without going totally Euro-cheese. In contrast, Junior Vasquez's remix of 1985's "How Will I Know" pokes fun at the song's 1980s fluffiness by layering in bells, lasers effects, and echoes on top of Whitney's enthusiastic vocals. --Heidi Sherman

Not Bad at all..., 14 May 2008
Well I've always loved Mariah, Celine and Leona, but i've never really warmed up to Whitney, i think i love the high screaming nutters! lol.
But yes, this is a great collection of hits from Ms. Houston.
I will always love you being the most impressive, and theres a few gems on here that i'd never heard before like "Its not Right But its okay" , "How Will I Know" and a few more. There are some which i dont like at all such as "count on me" (even though its nice) and im sick of hearing "Run To you"!! But she will go down as a classic.
Even though she is amazing, i do still believe Celine has more power, Mariah has more range and Leona- well we havent seen the best of leona yet... She is better than Christina Aguilera and Aretha Franklin though...
Anyway! I'll stop comparing! Smashing album and She is undeniably a great great vocalist. x
Absolutely Brilliant. The Original & The Best., 31 Mar 2008
Love this album to death, it's a 2 disk collection of all Whitney's hits old and new. The first disk is the ballads, and the second disk is the more up-tempo numbers. Whitney really has sung some amazing songs over the years, she also has the incredible, unforgettable highly credited vocals to match. Generally i like all of Whitney's songs, but the highlights for me were obviously the killer hit 'I will always love you', if Whitney hadn't of covered this song i doubt it would be as famous or as popular as it is today, 'One moment in time' the world's best ballard, sung for the 1988 Olympics, vocals couldn't be more excellent, i hope someone plays that song at my funeral, 'I learned from the best', very good one of Whitney's more modern hits, 'Saving all my love for you' also very good and finally 'Greatest love of all' the anthem that got every wannabe diva in the land singing along to, and still it's stood the test of time. In my opinion, she couldn't of brought out a better greatest hits album, it's certainly one of my favourite Whitney albums, if not my favourite.
What a Shame, 01 Oct 2007
Whitney Houston, one of the best-selling female entertainers, is severely wronged by this compilation. Disc one delivers many of her best-known songs such as: "I Will Always Love You", "Greatest Love of All" and "I Have Nothing", but disc two really brings down the quality of the album as a whole. Whoever thought of the idea to put mediocre remixes side by side of some of the best pop music in history? I wonder what Whitney thought when she first heard the album. Well, I heard it, and I was not impressed. The cover is boring, and I wonder why they didn't put a little more effort into this project (for great compilation-covers, check out "Island Life" by one miss. Jones). Let's hope her upcoming "Ultimate Collection" gets it right.
So, before you decide, you really have to ask yourself if you're willing to pay full-price for an album of remixes.
Greatest Hits, 11 Sep 2007
Great Track i think the best tracks are i will always love you i wanna dance with somebody i'm every woman it's not right but it's okay 10/10 must buy!
with all its remixes leaves a sour taste to an otherwise sweet album., 21 Mar 2007
Whitney Houston has been one of my favorites ever since I was 17 years old. I can't believe that I've been a fan of hers for the past 20 years. This album is beyond incredible and you all should add it to your collections.
SAVING ALL MY LOVE FOR YOU
From the album WHITNEY HOUSTON (1985). I remember that this was the B-side to the ALL AT ONCE single. This song was also released as it's own single.
GREATEST LOVE OF ALL
From the album WHITNEY HOUSTON (1985). Definitely one of the best songs from Whitney and it will never die.
DIDN'T WE ALMOST HAVE IT ALL
From the album WHITNEY (1987). Beautiful.
WHERE DO BROKEN HEARTS GO
From the album WHITNEY (1987). One of Whit's best.
ALL THE MAN THAT I NEED
From the album I'M YOUR BABY TONIGHT (1990). Okay.
RUN TO YOU
From the original motion picture soundtrack THE BODYGUARD (1992). One of the themes to Whitney's first major film role THE BODYGUARD. Outstandingly beautiful.
I HAVE NOTHING
From the original motion picture soundtrack THE BODYGUARD (1992). This was the another one of THE BODYGUARD themes. Another beautiful song.
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
From the original motion picture soundtrack THE BODYGUARD (1992). This was the main theme for THE BODYGUARD. DOLLY PARTON originally did this classic ballad, but Whitney's version is the definitive killing machine version. Although some of us are sick of it, we all can't deny that this is a classic that is impossible to kill. The part I love the most is at the end when she hits that high note.
EXHALE (SHOOP, SHOOP)
From the original motion picture soundtrack WAITING TO EXHALE (1995). I started to become less interested when Whitney got into the R&B stage.
WHY DOES IT HURT SO BAD
From the original motion picture soundtrack WAITING TO EXHALE (1995). Okay.
Liked the first half but the 2nd half with all its remixes leaves a sour taste to an otherwise sweet album. Whitney is a RnB Diva not a queen of the dance floor.

Amazing as ever!!!, 14 Sep 2004
If you like Boyz 2 Men and are a big a fan as me then you'll love this album, a good mixture of old and new, sentimental and just funky - i love it!!
immense for those chilled occasions, 26 Aug 2008
Re-visit,re-visit-urgent, 05 Oct 2007
Smashing album and She is undeniably a great great vocalist. x

Delux edition even better than the original, 26 Jul 2008
I loved the original b'day, but this delux edition is even better. Right let's get into the tracks
Beautiful liar feat shakira- We all know this song, a bit boring now though
Irreplaceable-Still love this song even a year later
Green light-I liked this song before it was released, after it was released i got bored of it
Kitty kat-I really like this track,i wish on the dvd there was a full length video
Welcome to hollywood feat jay-z- This was on jay-z's kingdom album feat beyonce written by ne-yo,but now it has been put on her album with her showing off her rapping skills
Upgrade you feat jay-z- This tune is sick, the video is good as well
Flaws and all- A lovely heartfelt song about how Jay-z loves her even with her flaws
If- This track was written and co-produced by the multi-talented ne-yo, anway i love this track, beyonce's vocals are amazing on this
Get me bodied- I do really like this song but sometimes it seems 2 go on forever
Freakum dress-I love this song a great club banger
Suga mama- Another favourite track of mine, nice video as well
Deja vu feat Jay-z-I still love this song, even though when it came out everyone hated it but not me
Ring the alarm- This was meant 2 be the second single, but everyone hated it, but i think this track is fire
Resentment- I love, love this track, again shows off her amazing vocal skills
Listen- A lovely ballad
World wide woman- This track is fire
Check on it-I liked this song when i first heard on destiny's child's greatest hits, but this isn't one of my favourite tracks, i normally skip this track
Amor gitano feat alejandro- Even though this song i don't understand what they are singing, the beat is really good and her vocals are really good even singing in spanish
Beautiful liar remix- I swear there is no difference between this track and the one that was released.
The dvd is really good but i wish thier was a full lenght version 2 kitty kat and i wish thier was a video 2 if and a video 2 resentment.Well i wish thier were video's 2 all her songs
YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION NOW
way betta than ms kelly, 06 Jul 2008
i brought both albums bday and ms kelly by kelly rowland. compared to bday kellys rs album doesnt compare!!!!
Still B'day, But Even Better., 16 May 2008
I think this really is a fantastic album, full of strong balladry and great upbeat dance tracks. The deluxe version contains 7 new songs, and for the first time in artist history a music video DVD, which i must point out is also superb, and all the music videos have had time, effort and money spent on them, so that they appear that good.
The songs well, my favourites are `Freakum Dress', this is one of those female liberation songs, it has a bangin beat, `Get Me Bodied' i really don't care that the song is over 6 minutes long it's still brilliant, it kind of has a 60's heritage, the instructional parts in the second half really give that away and when you hear it you'll want to get involved,' Flaws And All' boring huh, i don't think so an emotional ballad about someone loving someone even if they are not perfect, and i was quite surprised that Beyonce of all people would write or sing a song about this, `Kitty Kat' this song is flirty, silky and sexy, `Welcome To Hollywood' explains the dangers of being rich & famous and she even lists some of the ultra- famous people who have dyed from too much fame, in my opinion the song should of been on the original, `Suga Mama' a throwback song to a specific era of music, really love the grittiness of it, `Déjà Vu' this song is ace, it builds up to an eventual crescendo and i just can't keep still when this is playing, `Upgrade U' compared to most of the album, a very much contempory R&B song with Jay- Z rapping half way though, influencing us to all upgrade our partners,`Ring The Album' Beyonce uses powerful vocals throughout this song, to talk about an ex-lover who has found someone else, `Resentment' was a really good song Beyonce again uses powerful vocals, really pours her heart and soul into this song, and you can tell she's feeling it, some more power vocal balladry from the smash hit `Dreamgirls' song `Listen', the crashing `Green Light', the perfect duet `Beautiful Liar', beautiful song more like, with it's obvious eastern influences, the slighly haunting 'If', `Check On It', it's got a nice melody, nice beat and finally, `World Wide Woman' basically talking about a very well known woman, and being able to log on anytime you like, hence the lyrics, 'I'm a world wide woman www you can log on anywhere..'
On this album we have seen a much different side to Beyonce appearing, she tells us she's not perfect even though she may look it on the outside, she also deals with issues such as drug addictions, (`Welcome To Hollywood`), and finally she talks about that even she may be upstaged sometimes, (`Resentment`), of course its a must have for any Beyonce fan, but the most important reason for buying this album is to discover who Beyonce really is, past the outer beauty and the incredible voice.
Best cd ever!, 24 Oct 2007
This cd was so worth the money, I bought it last year and still listen to it every day! some up tempo r'n'b songs you can dance and work out to, some award winning ballads like Listen from the movie Dreamgirls, and Resentment a beautiful strong song she puts all her emotion into. Beyonce is the first singer ever to come out with a music video dvd album and i love it! Beautiful Liar feat.Shakira is so different to the other music out now! The most viewed video on youtube with over 30 million views!
Thankfully the Freemasons arrived to sort out my mess LOL, 07 Aug 2007
"Dear Mr and Mrs Freemason
Thanks a billion! You've taken an album stuffed full of unconvincing, half-a-job slow jams and turned them into disco gold. Even I, the Artist, find myself amazed at how good you've made my tuneless old nonsense sound.
I am probably the third best vocalist in the world today (I am not as good as Beverley Knight or Mary J Blige, but hey - can't win `em all). Despite this incredible talent I continue to chuck my career away on boring music that increasingly needs remixing to make it a hit.
Mr and Mrs Freemason, I owe you my career.
Loads of love,
Bouncy. X"
This letter is, obviously, invented but it says all you really need to know about Beyonce's album. Get the Freemasons remixes, ditch the rest.

Product Description
Following on from 1997's My Way, 8701 crowns Usher's position as R&B man of the moment. Never mind the hype about Michael Jackson, Wacko is going to have some serious competition in years to come. Usher is a rap singer and dance man with a twist. Rather than being R&B record designed by committee, every track on 8701 pulsates with the sense of a life lived, a strongly personal point of view--from the street slang of "Pop Ya Collar", to the nostalgic groove "U-Turn" ("I had a hot flat top/...the sound was Bobby Brown"), to the song "If U Want To", where Usher sings: "I can take you from your man", with vulnerability rather than braggadocio. Though cowritten and produced with a variety of names, including She'kspere and The Neptunes, the solid hip-hop undertow comes courtesy of Jermaine Dupri. Mixing slow jams with edgy beats and sweet melody, Usher has pulled off a triumph. --Lucy O'Brien

Delux edition even better than the original, 26 Jul 2008
I loved the original b'day, but this delux edition is even better. Right let's get into the tracks

Classic , 06 Jan 2007
A classic album of the 80s was thriller. the classic album for the noughties is 8701. an amazing album. flawlessly put together and so memorable. this album has served as a soundtrack to a time in my life and to do that demonstrates the power of the album. amazing!!!
A fab mix!, 18 Sep 2006
Usher's just got this album jusy right, with a mix of uplifting, soothing, and bass-pumping tunes. I put it on before footie matches to get me going, and it really does the job. But obviously, with such a good mixture, its ideal to listen to anywhere. His voice is incredibly likeable, and doesnt become annoying at any point, making it an album you'll never get tired of. Well done Usher!
A truly excellent album.., 11 Sep 2004
This is an excellent album by Usher, I have brought this album on hearing Confessions, but this album by far outweighs any albums he has esatablished so far. The album is well constructed, it is almost written in a ballad form and it directly addresses the theme of love - a meticulous beginning by the song U remind me and a brilliant ending by the song Separated. He has truly shown his talent and outhweighed his critics in this album, as the songs he protays has an element of subtlity encapsulated within it, each song has a deep meaning and thoroughly constructed. The song U got it bad is a brilliant example, it is almost as if he is referring to you directly. In addition, the guest appearances by P Diddy, Pharell Williams and Kelis are also worthy of note, and adds a huge impact on the album. There is a mix of rap in the album but the majority of the songs are dominated by the sole voice of Usher in an R&N&B manner, making this album an excellent hear for any music fan. Usher has risen from a teenage 13 year old to a mature 25 year old. This album is a vivid demonstration of his maturity.
Statement - THE BEST ALBUM EVER!, 23 Aug 2004
This is by far the best album i've ever listened to. Being a huge rnb listener, there arn't many albums you can put on and listen to throughout. Usher's 8701 is definitely one album thats got it all... flaver, rhythm, romance, party... everything!!!
A brilliant R'n'B album, 28 Feb 2004
Usher's career kicked off in 1987 Atlanta and the wheel of fortune hasn't stopped turning for him since. With this, his third album, he has developed both as a singer and a songwriter from what we saw on My Way. The album nicely mixes slower ballads with songs that get you up and dancing as a more mature Mr Raymond shows he's quite possibly this generation's Michael Jackson. From the slower grooves of the loved-up 'U Got It Bad' and 'How Do I Say' to the pounding Neptunes and Shek'spere base lines on 'U Don't Have To Call' and 'TTP', from the instantly catchy 'U Remind Me' and 'U-Turn' to the genuinely heartfelt 'Can U Help Me' and 'Separated', by way of the uplifting 'Pop Ya Collar', Usher has produced a mature album that shows you can still have fun. Sure, there are touches of bravado about 'If I Want To' and 'Good Ol' Ghetto', but it's this slight overflowing of confidence that makes this an excellent album. The guest appearances by P Diddy, Pharell Williams and Kelis are also worthy of note. If this and the new single 'Yeah' are what we can expect from his new album 'Confessions', then bring it on!

Amazing as ever!!!, 14 Sep 2004
If you like Boyz 2 Men and are a big a fan as me then you'll love this album, a good mixture of old and new, sentimental and just funky - i love it!!
immense for those chilled occasions, 26 Aug 2008
